Vampires Never Die Journal

October 13, 2015

According to the article on Vampires Never Dies, as I recall back in my younger years, we would tell ghost stories, it would bring chills to my spirit. Which explains why I don’t particular liked scary stories, it leaves a feeling of negativity, imagination and nightmares. Although, it can leave general ideas to create characters, and write a story on novel vampires. Also I recall back in the 1970s, there was a show called “Dark Shadows”, it plays a character who was romantic, and he would come out during the evenings, sleep during the day time. I feel that a vampire is after a victim and wants to be in control of the individual, and only after one thing from that individual. Due to my disbelief in vampires and non-fiction wise tale. Also against my religious believes, it leaves of no interest in these type of movies. I think its’ interesting to have two authors, who works together such as Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan to create general ideas, solving mystery and of horror novels.

The Undercurrent Journal

September 29, 2015

In reference to the article on Undercurrent the influences’ in my life, was my mother her caring, nurturing, and concerns about my future. Education was the number one role in my house hold and completing high school education in those years. Growing up with one parent as father, and mother role model left an impact on my life. Looking up to a role model as my mother, a strong, determination willing spirit, who never quits at anything she starts. We had lectures, as growing up in my household, and family meetings at the dinner table. It was important to have that in my life and left stability, future of what I wanted for myself. My mother was very educated and I grew up in the surroundings of wanting to accomplished my goals in my future, career. My mother would make comments such as “you have potential don’t ever let anyone tell you any different.” I can understand how Young felt with her mother consistently telling her to study, her MCATs exams, or concern about her future, career, and always wanting to be there for her just in case Young needed her mother. To me that is a good role model as a parent, you never stop being a parent. Its 24/7 throughout the day, and trusting our children that they will make the right decisions in their lives. Today I have a good relationship with my mother, I do my best to stay in touch with her. We have open communication, with a close bond as mother and daughter. I have learned from the wise and she has inspired me to follow my dreams, and goals of accomplishments in my life.

We’re Not

September 23, 2015

I thought that this was a good story reading on the difference of culture, identity from being taught from our parents. It brings us the closeness, and identifying our selves with others. Respecting where we come from, the traditional manner in our lives. Learning from our mistakes, and being taught from our parents to be mature adults. When I was a young girl growing up, I remember saying something to my mother, about the singer Elvis Pressicly, who passed away years ago in the 1970s. I said it in a smart tone voice to my mother, while in the kitchen cooking. I was punished for smart mouthing her, slapped across the face, sent to my room. I immediately, was upset, cried because of the pain I felt on my face. I stormed off to my room, and crying, and I gave it some thought to what I said. I and went to my mother to apologize for the smart mouthing her. I am a very sensitive individual and I think about what I have caused it, and learn from this. I never disrespected my mother again after that. I did give her a big hug, and it made me feel better that my mother can have a forgiving heart. Today we are close, as mother and eldest daughter of four siblings,I appreciate my mother more than ever.

Sloppy VS Neat Journal

September 23, 2015

I think that being sloppy, at times people are capable of being organized, and striving to have order in their daily activities, and their personal affairs, and can’t bear to part with anything.  They like to hang on to valuables, and can be a pack rack.  However, there are people in our society that are open minded, easy to accept challenges that come their way.  They are willing to try new ideas than vs. Narrow-minded individuals, who do not like to make changes, and trying out new ideas.  I personally is a neat individual and I can be sloppy at times, but I like to be organized because I am set in ways, I like my order of life.  It keeps me going and putting priorities first.

Shooting Dad, Guns jounral

September 15, 2015

According the essay on Shooting Dad, I feel that guns should be outlaw, because of accidents that has occurred others to be killed or injured in the household, or friends, neighbors.  It was interesting to know that this young girl learned to handle a gun, rifle, BB gun, and used in a good manner, even it left her with some fear of handling a gun.  It taught her to have that relationship with her father, and opened communication, with her father.  He enjoyed inventing a cannon and building new ideas, creativity.  Also I agree with the first amendment’s freedom, religion, speech.  I am partial agreement with the second amendment, due to our law enforcement bear those rights.

Arm Wrestling with my Father, journal

I personally enjoyed the story, but I could not relate to a fatherly figure due to growing up without a father, but just one parent to take on two roles in the family.  I would imagine that if I was arm wrestling with my father, it would show me that he is the strong character in the family, and protector.  Physically it would help me to gain confidence within myself, with arm wrestling with a father and showing him that I am strong, and can be successful with life challenges.  Communication with a father I have not shared, but with a step-father I am able to communicate with him, and he has been a role of a father to me, as the years gone by.  He has taken the time to talk with me and wanted the best for me.  He says we are like each other in some ways, stubborn, hard heads.  He has been there for me and, as a father, when times have gotten tough for me, and I great full for his support, love, understanding of what I never had while growing up.

Writing is a challenge

Writing is like a challenge, like a pack of wolves, huskies brilliant and smart.  They must learn to survive and use their brains to think.  As we as humans learn through life’s challenges, and to write about them in from our daily activities. To share with the world of our experiences of challenges.
